Children of the World

We were so blessed on Sunday, we got to see the Children of the World International Children's Choir perform at our church. We had heard that they were coming, and it was an event the church has been planning for a while, but we weren't totally aware of what it actually was. The actual choir consists of 39 orphaned and disadvantaged children from Guatemala, Uganda, and Nepal and they tour to raise awareness and funds orphaned children all over the world. It was so moving to see them singing the same praise songs we sing every week, with thier little routines and outfits! I am amazed at the rythym these kids have, they were amzing! Anyways it was such an incredible experience and I am so glad we got to see it.

Moms Night Out

We had a 'Mom's Night Out' on Friday night with a group of girls from MOMS Club, and it was so much fun. They had us running around store to store figuring out clues and taking goofy pictures! It was a great way to get to know other moms, and just let loose a little bit. After the scavenger hunt, we all met back at Fuddruckers and had nachos, hot wings and a couple of drinks, (which did not make for a very happy tummy the next morning!) Anyways, it was really a lot of fun and I look forward to doing it again!

Hot Dog Mummies

We made Hot Dog Mummies for lunch yesterday, and I thought they came out so cute! They looked like a little army of mummies! The kids really liked them and had fun trying to help make them! We did have a casualty though... one fell over in the oven! (Mommy had to eat that one!)

Chalk Days

The weather here has been amazing the last few days, so this week I've been trying to get the kids out as much as possible. Its so incredible to me how much they change in just a matter of months, weeks even. I've let the little ones play with chalk before, but their play usually consists of eating and throwing the chalk, not too much drawing actually takes place. I have noticed however, an extreme amount of crayon scribbling on my walls and other furniture lately, so I figured they must be ready for some actual coloring activities. I let them take out a bucket of chalk into the front yard and draw all over the driveway, this kept them busy for at least 45 minutes, and for anyone who has had a two year old, you know this is a rare event. They were so cute telling me what they were drawing (even though all I could see was random lines of color) Jackson was telling me "My dra-wing firetruck Courtney" (yes, he calls me Courtney now instead of Mommy, because that's what Riley says.) We also went to the park this week with Quincey and his Mommy, Megan and his little sister Maiya. The three little one, well big ones I guess now that baby Maiya is in the picture, had so much fun sliding down head first on the slide and pulling each other around in the wagon. Its is so nice to have other kids for Jackson to play with. He loves the interaction, every time we go somewhere with other children he tells me "See kids Mommy!!". Speaking of the little man, he's calling me now from his bed, so I better get him up and ready for the day!

Playing in the Rain

It has been the most beautiful fall weekend here! I was reading Megan's blog the other day and she mentioned how she loves playing in the rain with her son Quincey and I thought that was such a great idea. So I let Jackson out in his raincoat yesterday while it was still raining a little and he had a blast. I also let Molly out front with him to play, which is making me a little nervous these days because she is about as tall as he is now when she jumps up. But they both did great. I have a short video I am working on posting of Jack talking about climbing the tree in our neighbors yard. He says "Can't reach it, tree too big..." Its so cute how he puts ideas together now and expresses himself rather than Justin or I just feeding him lines. I hope I can get the video on here for you, but we're having a hard time with this new computer. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the start of Fall!

Walking Brigade

I recently joined a group called MOMS Club, which is a community group for stay at homes, which provides support and activities to do with the kids. Since we are down to one car, Jack and I havn't got to do much with the MOMS Club lately, but today we took Justin to work so we had a car! Yay! We ended up joining the MOMS Club 'Walking Brigade' at the riverwalk in Farmington, and it was so much fun! We went all the way down the river and when we came back, we got to feed the ducks and watch them swim in the water. Jackson loves the ducks, and the river! We wil definetly be joining them for that one in the future. I love how the trees are starting to change color and there is just a slight crispness in the air that feels like fall! I'm not ready for snow yet, but I am ready for the chilly nights, and crunchy leaves on the ground, and the wooshing sound cars make when they drive by and the roads are still wet from rain! I also love that the grocery stores are starting to set up the fall displays with all the baking goodies out! Everything about fall makes me feel wonderful! The only thing missing according to my husband, is The Carpenters Christmas music! Love you Mom ;)

Well its back to the housework, homework and kids, but I wanted to take a few minutes to post a little something! More pictures and videos coming soon.

Trains Have a Photo Shoot

A couple nights ago Jack was asking me to play in his room with him (Mommy pway? Peese?) So I went in with him and set up his train tracks and played for a little while, then just sat back and watched. He is so into treating all his toys like they are people, they eat with him, go to bed and get tucked in with him, go to church... he always ask 'Take wiff me?' Anyways, the other night when we were playing with his trains, I snuck out to grab the camera and actually to take video of him but he caught me, and asked me to take pictures of his trains. So he lined them all up and told them "Take picture Percy, Take picture Donald." Then he laid down with them and posed and was so proud to be taking pictures of his trains! Too cute!!

I was having a problem before loading pictures onto this thing, because one picture upload would shut down all my Internet Explorer windows, weird huh? Anyways, I found away around it so hopefully I can post more often!
